The West of Mauritius is a popular tourist destination with many amenities and a lively nightlife. Its beaches are popular all year round.

Tamarin offers all the necessary amenities such as shops, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, sports clubs with tennis and beach volleyball courts, and a swimming pool. For children, there is the Paul and Virginie School (kindergarten and primary) and the Telfair International Primary School.

Flic-en-Flac: A Lively Tourist Destination

Flic-en-Flac is the second seaside resort in Mauritius, located on the west coast of the island. It is lively and touristy with bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and a casino.

The beaches of Flic-en-Flac are breathtaking. During the week, Flic-en-Flac is quiet, allowing visitors to enjoy the beaches and water activities such as scuba diving and windsurfing.

The South of Mauritius: An Ideal Destination for Nature Lovers The South of Mauritius is a wild and untouristed region with different and sometimes rugged landscapes. If you are looking for a peaceful environment close to nature, this region is perfect for living an expatriation fully immersed in Mauritian life.

Disadvantages:

  • Distance: The South is far from shopping centers, schools, and businesses. It is not easily accessible by transport and road infrastructure is limited.
  • Limited options for expatriates with children: If you have children, the South may not be the best option for you as there are not many shopping centers or schools.

Mahébourg: An interesting option for solo expatriates or those without children The village of Mahébourg, located in the southeast of the island, can be a good option for solo expatriates or those without children. With a highway that connects the village to the center of the island, as well as a shopping center and many varied small shops and typical restaurants a few minutes away by car, Mahébourg is accessible and offers a pleasant living environment. Additionally, the proximity to the airport and the beaches of Pointe-d'Esny and Blue-Bay, among the best on the island, make it an attractive destination.

The East of Mauritius is a top choice for beach and golf lovers.

This region is full of idyllic beaches such as Belle Mare and Trou d'eau Douce, as well as a breathtaking golf course at Constance Belle Mare Plage.

Advantages:

  • Access to beautiful beaches in the East of the island.
